The Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Local Safeguarding Children Board links all the agencies involved in working with children, young people and families.
It has four main areas of responsibility:
Policies
- The provision of current policies, procedures and guidance covering work in the area of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Training
- The provision of inter-agency training. The courses provided are one or two day and are also available in half day units for voluntary organisations. These courses are free and run three or four times a week in term time.
Communication
- The LSCB provides leaflets, posters and information related to safeguarding children. These are free and and available to download from the publications pages.
Performance Management
- The LSCB has a responsibility to monitor and assess how well agencies meet their responsibilities and work together.
Independent Chair
- The Independent Chair of the LSCB is Glenys Johnston. She is also a member of the Safeguarding Adults Board with which we are linked.
