LSCB Training
The LSCB training programme is based on the learning outcomes as prescribed in Government Guidance 'Working Together to Safeguard Children' 2006. The training also reflects some of the Common Core Skills for the Children's Workforce. For further information, download the Training Strategy April 2007 - March 2010 (PDF, 156kb).
The training events are held in geographical areas throughout Leicester City, Leicestershire and Rutland and are free of charge to managers, staff and volunteers from statutory, private and voluntary sector organisations.

LSCB - A:
1 day or 2 half day modules |
To give participants the opportunity to develop awareness of, and the ability to act on, concerns about the safety and welfare of children and young people.

Those in regular contact with children and young people, and with adults who are parents/carers.

LSCB - B:
2 days or two 1 day modules |
To develop knowledge, skills and the ability to work together on the processes for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, including those who are suffering, or at risk of suffering, significant harm.

Those who work regularly with children and young people, and with adults who are carers.

LSCB - C:
2 days |
To enhance knowledge and skills and the ability to work together on the processes for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children in complex and challenging situations. To provide an opportunity for people to learn together and explore professional dilemmas |
Worker/managers from statutory, independent and voluntary sector organisations with a particular responsibility for safeguarding children such as designated or named professionals, those undertaking Section 47 enquiries or working with complex cases.
