to the Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Local Safeguarding Children Board website. The board is an inter-agency forum for agreeing how different services and professional groups should co-operate to safeguard children in their local area, and for making sure that arrangements work effectively for bringing about good outcomes for children.
The Winter 2007 Newsletter is now available and can be accessed on this website. Copies have been distributed and can be sent to you if you contact the LSCB office on 0116 260 0004.
Agencies and individuals can be kept up to date with, for example, recent changes in key personnel and with new developments.
Articles in this edition include:
Child Death Reviews; all LSCBs will have a duty from 1st April 2008 to review the deaths of all children, up to their 18th birthday, which occur within its boundaries.
Demise of the Child Protection Register; the article explains about changes in language rather than in practice, and emphasises that tasks performed by the register remain.
Allegations Management; all staff of LSCB agencies need to know who their Named Senior Officer (NSO) is. Their role is to ensure any concerns or allegations are investigated quickly, fairly and thoroughly.
